Erickson does in his book what he intends to do, and he does it well. These conclusions are presented with conviction but not tologia dogmatically as to exclude or insult the intelligence of those with other viewpoints.

The book covered all topics with great care and consideration. This was a great introduction to Christian doctrine.

Well written, easy to understand, and can easily be used as reference material as well. It is, rather, a matter of his possessing more of our lives. Second, I know a great book when I read one and though this book is great, it is massive and scholarly in its coverage it is Teoloogia for your ordinary lay theologian.
I love the fact that Erickson surveys all points of view and gives you the best arguments for each. Millarx 12, Jennifer rated it really liked it. Overall it is a strong book, written well, and though at times written for experts rather than students, this should not stop anyone from at least trying to read it.

If they had not changed the advert since the last time I bought it, I would post a complaint and at the same time I really wanted an electronic copy to ease my reference work.

As there are 60 chapters, this can involve a lot of scrolling. Jan 14, Anna Rose rated it it was ok. I think the author does Sistsmatica have mixed emotions on this book. Some of the revisions carried over from Christian Theology, third edition, include engagement with various issues related to postmodernism, interaction with the latest conversation concerning the New Perspective on Paul and Justification.

This is a very good book which introduces sitsematica fundamentals of Christian Teolotia. It will, rather, establish its presence by producing a new sensitivity to spiritual things, a new direction of life, and an increasing ability to obey God” p.
He covers core topics of Christian belief, shows various sides, and then picks a side – supporting it with Scripture. For example, I like his discussion of the words for “sin” much better than Ryrie’s. The main concepts from Christian Theology are in the resource without being overwhelming to students. Abridged version; many others I’d recommend prior to this.
Introducing Christian Doctrine
I have one quibble with the way this book is typeset and one with Kindle texts in general. Great introduction to Christian doctrine and theology from an evangelical perspective. The chapters are well organised for the student, each beginning with objectives, a summary, study questions and a chapter plan.
So on with the review of the Kindle edition, the text in electronic form contains all the Greek, Hebrew and transliteration fonts sistematcia accurately displayed, although I have not figured out a way to search for them or even select them individually on my reader.
It is a read that will leave you well versed and incredibly informed, but it is not a book anyone will benefit from if you are only committed to a casual read. Best part of all this is that it is available on my kindle, IPod and PC, I only wish I had my original notes from the margins of the print copy here as well. Even when redeemed and glorified, we introuo still be his human creatures. Overall, if you are looking for a textbook that will usher you into the technicalities of systematic theology without overwhelming you with technical details, look no further than the third edition of Introducing Christian Doctrine.
