Zipes has done more for the theorization of folk and fairy tales than almost any other contemporary academic, and his name belongs in conversation with the likes of Alan Dundes, Maria Tatar, Linda Degh, et al.
What I really liked about this book is it explained he basic knowledge of the fairytales but also went further to make links and give reasoning to why this is important to stories an life now days.
